Overview

This program, presented by veteran and former Veterans Affairs (VA) attorney Tom Kniffen, will address the basic legal concepts that pertain to obtaining disability compensation benefits from VA. The primary focus will be VA disability compensation benefits, including a discussion of the basic requirements for service connection and statutory amounts of monthly benefits. Mr. Kniffen will also address VA healthcare benefits and pension benefits. He will conclude by explaining the basic requirements for attorneys who want to represent veterans at VA and before the CAVC.
