After greatly expanding employment rights in 2020, the Virginia legislature has again passed a number of new laws with a direct impact on employers. As of July 1, 2021, Virginia employees have numerous new protections in the areas of disability discrimination, military status, and cannabis oil use. These laws will continue to transform employment litigation in the Commonwealth as the new legislation provides powerful new protections for Virginia employees.
