Overview

One of the more challenging tasks for a Chief Information Officer or other IT leader charged with keeping senior executives apprised of cybersecurity and IT priorities is ensuring that senior executives understand the urgency and scope of the issues confronting the company. Very little causes more confusion and more stress than trying to effectively communicate these issues to a board or C-suite executives. Not only can there be a disconnect in depth of understanding, but issues of terminology and basic vocabulary can lead to problems.

This course, presented by Heidi Wachs, Vice President at Stroz Friedberg and David Saunders, Co-Chair of Jenner & Block's Data Privacy and Cybersecurity practice, will help counsel who advise senior executives, boards and IT leadership gain an understanding as to when and how to effectively communicate with corporate executives and board members about cybersecurity and IT risk.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Appropriately report cybersecurity matters to management and the board
  2. Convey critical issues in reports to management and the board
  3. Review best practices for communicating cybersecurity concerns
