In Illinois, the laws that govern the commercial landlord-tenant relationship is much different than its residential counterpart. This course, presented by real estate attorney Katherine Rehan, will address state law and customary practices that impact commercial leasing, including the enforceability of leases, disclosures, transfer taxes, rents, security deposits, and more.
Commercial landlord-tenant relationships are governed not only by state and federal law, but depending on where the property is located, municipal law may impose additional or different requirements on both the landlord and tenant. This course will address the different rights and responsibilities of both the landlord and tenant who are parties to a commercial lease and recent developments in the law.
