The City of New York, State of New York and the Federal Government have recently been prosecuting an increased number of cases in which it is alleged that landlords, property managers, and real estate brokers are engaging in illegal discrimination in renting apartment units. As a result, many landlords are questioning whether their standard practices are in fact exposing them to liability. Whether you represent landlords or tenants, understanding income source discrimination is essential to your practice.
