Shielding the Abused: A Guide to Protective Orders in Virginia

Taught by Amy L. Bradley, a multi-year volunteer with a pro-bono program that has assisted hundreds of victims of abuse obtain protective orders against their abusers, this course will guide practitioners through the protective order process in Virginia courts. 

The program is designed to assist attorneys obtain an understanding of common issues with regard to protective order litigation including: identifying the court with jurisdiction to hear the matter, grasping the process of obtaining a protective order, learning the elements necessary to successfully obtain a protective order and avoiding traps for the unwary.
