Overview
Litigation is traumatizing for victims of sexual assault. As an attorney, representing a victim, you should understand that the litigation process, albeit necessary to obtain some sort of redress is harmful - really harmful. Understanding the depth of trauma and the ways in which litigation can re-inflict trauma is critical to property managing and preparing a victim of sexual assault. This ranges from understanding the dynamics at play, the power of gaslighting, the world of slut shaming and victim blaming, as well as knowing what to say and when to say it. This course, presented by seasoned practitioner Giugi Carminati, will address these issues and provide techniques and language to use with clients.
