Insurance licensing and regulation is a detailed and often complex area of the law, and has taken on even greater importance in recent years due to an influx of new players entering the insurance marketplace through insurtech. In this program, Eric Biderman will provide an overview of the key legal issues related to insurance licensing and regulation both in the present and in the future. He will outline the unique interplay between state and federal regulation in the field of insurance, and the significant licensing requirements of the various players in the insurance marketplace.  Additionally, this course will address new developments in insurance regulatory compliance, including cybersecurity regulations, the concept of a regulatory sandbox, and how the GDPR will affect the insurance industry.
