Remote (or “virtual”) depositions are now the norm and, for various reasons, may continue to be so once the pandemic subsides. These depositions require planning that may put an emphasis on technical skills of conducting and defending lawyers and on the assistance of nonlawyers. This course will begin with an overview of the planning that should go into the planning of remote depositions, including the selection of the nonlawyer vendors who will assist in the deposition process. It will also address making and preserving objections and creating a complete record.
