Course Description

Time 60 minutes
Difficulty Intermediate

The proliferation of Fair Labor Standards Act (“FLSA”) litigation demonstrates a lack of awareness on the part of many employers with regard to federal overtime wage requirements. Experienced litigator Nolan Klein, Esq. discusses the basic requirements of the FLSA, including which types of employees are covered, and how they must be paid.

Join Mr. Klein for a discussion of strategies for avoiding and quickly ending FLSA litigation, as well as litigation techniques that can be used to attack FLSA claims.

Learning Objectives:

I.   Understand the history and purpose of the FLSA, including which employers and employees are covered by the law

II.  Grasp the FLSA claim aggregation features, and understand the importance of paying and resolving meritorious cases expeditiously

III. Identify the most effective substantive defenses and procedural tactics to fight and win FLSA lawsuits
