Course Description

At virtually every CLE you have attended since you were sworn in to practice law, you have heard the oft repeated phrase, "Ethics is what you must do and professionalism is what you should do." This is a great platitude. But what is "professionalism"? How do we know whether we are being "professional" or not? This CLE, taught by solo practitioner Ron Daniels, focuses on the history of professionalism, the history of professionalism in the Georgia Bar, and examples of situations where a lawyer is facing a choices involving professionalism.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Discuss the history of attorney professionalism
  2. Analyze the standards of professionalism that apply to the legal community
  3. Apply professionalism guidelines to a series of hypotheticals

although this was an audio-only program, it was very worthwhile- the instructor was engaging and obviously well-qualified to teach the subject. I imagine a video presentation would be even more worthwhile
