Overview

COVID-19 introduced an increased adoption of teleworking and, in turn, increased cybersecurity risks. This notion has been highlighted by the FBI and CISA through various bulletins and alerts. The related increase in the number, types and severity of ransomware attacks cannot be overlooked, and neither can a person's teleworking safeguard requirements. This program addresses what businesses of all sizes can and should be incorporating into their compliance programs in order to thwart ransomware attacks and reportable breaches.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify the most common vulnerabilities that lead to ransomware attacks

  2. Explore the types of ransomware attacks and how each one is deployed in order to affect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data such as PHI, PII, and trade secrets

  3. Discuss risk mitigation techniques in order to reduce financial, legal, and reputational harm
