Overview

The purpose of the Current Trends in Derivatives Law Program is to present the audience with an overview of applicable derivatives law generally and then a status update of where the laws stand today.  

Presented by Alston & Bird attorney Alice Yurke, the program will also discuss principles and priorities disclosed by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and Securities and Exchange Commission, and how they may impact regulatory developments. The final segment will discuss the state of cross-border regulatory harmonization efforts between the United States and the European Union and issues posed by Brexit.

  1. Acquire an overview of derivatives law generally, and an update on the status of the laws today
  2. Review the underlying principles of both the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and Securities and Exchange Commission, and discern their priorities
