Overview

In response to the global health crisis, authorities at all levels, including federal, state, and local governments, have imposed a myriad of emergency measures designed to provide rent and eviction relief. This program will cover eviction moratoriums, rent freeze orders, and changes to court operations impacting California landlords and tenants. We will also examine a sampling of the orders implemented by local jurisdictions including San Francisco, Oakland, Los Angeles, and San Diego. Lastly, we will discuss practice pointers, alternative remedies, and theoretical considerations.
