Road Trip Across U.S. State Privacy Laws

Aired on

Intermediate

Overview

The lack of comprehensive federal privacy legislation and the enactment of the California Consumer Privacy Act have inspired several states to propose their own privacy laws. Join us in this road trip through the U.S. to discuss the different initiatives that have been introduced, their differences and similarities with the CCPA, and their potential trajectory on the legislative floors across the country.

Presented by Victoria Beckman and Melissa Kern, Co-Chairs of the Frost Brown Todd Privacy & Data Security team, this program will benefit privacy professionals, in- house and regulatory counsel.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Review the individual privacy laws being proposed by each state
  2. Compare each proposed privacy bill among themselves and against both the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)’
  3. Discuss what companies would need to do to be prepared to comply with new state legislation
