Alan Schnurman is known to his peers as "the Larry King of Law"
and "the 21st century entrepreneur of the legal profession." He
hosts the popular Lawline TV show and recently launched Lawline.com,
the Internet's Legal Broadcast Network," which he is building into
the largest law-related web site in the world.
Here are some interesting facts about Alan Schnurman:
- In 1983, Schnurman launched Lawline, the longest running legal
television show in the United States.
- Several judges have told Schnurman that they plan their Sundays
around the show.
- Lawline is the first legal talk show in the Metro NY area. It
plays on various cable stations in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut,
reaching 4 million homes.
- Lawline is going national. The show was just tapped by PBS Adult
Learning Services to provide its programming for nationwide distribution
via satellite to adult learners, community colleges and educational
and nonprofit institutions. Distribution will begin Fall 2000.
- Schnurman earned his nickname as "Larry King of Law" as host
of the popular Lawline TV show, where he interviews prominent
lawyers and judges and makes the show lively with his natural
enthusiastic and inquisitive personality.
- From Lawline, he started Lawline.com, a leading online broadcaster
of law-related media programming in 1999. He plans to make Lawline.com
the top broadcaster of law-related media programming on the web
and the largest law-related web site in the world.
- Lawline.com is the main supplier of Yahoo's Legal Broadcasting
Channel.
- Lawline.com was one of the first web sites to be accredited
to offer CLE courses in New York State. Schnurman plans to repeat
this "first" in states nationwide. He is already in discussions
with CA, FL, TX, MO, AND VA.
- CLE credits can be taken on Lawlline.com at health clubs, such
as CRUNCH, that provide Internet access with audio at exercise
machines. (We have a list of these
gyms.)
- Consumers are welcome on the site where they can take advantage
of expert's insights into relevant issues, such as sexual harassment,
current matrimonial law, a fix on the mob (for those who want
to get their "Soprano" fix while the popular show is in hiatus),
estate planning, how to negotiate, working mothers losing custody,
how to select the best lawyer, should I sue my doctor, etc.
- Schnurman also launched in 1999 Lawline.com radio, the only
online radio program dedicated to legal professionals. It is available
on the Lawline.com site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on demand.
- Lawline.com radio is forming a Negotiation Channel with the
person the Wall Street Journal calls the "Father of Negotiations,"
Gerard Nierenberg, the author of numerous books and host of many
seminars on the art of negotiation.
- Schnurman is currently building a Lawline.com radio channel
that will highlight the new area of electronic discovery, which
became a key issue in the Microsoft government case. Electronic
evidence, such as email messages, are prime to become important
factors in all kinds of cases - divorce, custody, business, criminal
and civil.
- An unabashed marketing maven, Schnurman is a frequent speaker
on Marketing Law and earned his second nickname, "the 21st century
entrepreneur of the legal profession," from Pamela Liapakis, the
former president of the American Trail Lawyers Association.

attorney and trial lawyer with Zalman & Schnurman. He is a tireless
and popular committee chairman and volunteer in the legal community.

marathon runner. He recently returned from a two-week, 280-mile
