Lisa Hoyes, Team Leader, Criminal Defense
As a graduate of SUNY Purchase with a BA in Language and Culture, Lisa worked as an advocate at the Osbourne Association, conducting investigations of the psycho-social background and legal history of defendants facing imprisonment, writing affidavits in support of reduced sentences, designing release plans and monitoring client progress. Lisa entered New York University School of Law as Sinsheimer Public Service Scholar, working as an associate editor of the New York University Law Review and interning at the Legal Aid Society, Southern Brooklyn Legal Services and the Lindesmith Center. Prior to coming to us, Lisa was a Soros Justice Postgraduate Fellow with The Door’s Legal Services Center and with The Legal Aid Society. Lisa took a leave of absence in 2004/2005 to work at the Equal Justice Initiative of Alabama.
