Bio:

Louis L. Chodoff is a partner in the Litigation Department and a member of the Labor and Employment Group. He concentrates his practice in labor and employment law counseling and litigation associated with harassment, discrimination, wage and hour, whistleblower, wrongful discharge, and restrictive covenant disputes.

Mr. Chodoff litigates in state and federal courts as well as in various administrative agencies such as the New Jersey Department of Labor, New Jersey Division on Civil Rights, New Jersey Office of Administrative Law, Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission, and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. He counsels his clients on the employment and labor law implications of corporate acquisitions and advises employers on all aspects of labor and employment law, including discharge and discipline decisions, employee safety and workplace violence issues, drug and alcohol testing issues, training protocols, leave of absence decisions, wage and hour issues, and downsizing.

Mr. Chodoff conducts training for clients throughout the country in areas of harassment prevention and union avoidance. He also conducts labor arbitrations, litigates matters before the NLRB, conducts collective bargaining negotiations, conducts representation election campaigns for management, and obtains state court injunctions in strike matters.

Representative Matters:
Served as lead trial counsel in successful defense of client in discrimination case before New Jersey Office of Administrative Law
Obtained injunction on behalf of housing authority and supermarket clients halting illegal picketing
Concluded collective bargaining negotiations for drug rehabilitation center, obtaining significant give-backs from union, including an increase in employee co-pay for health insurance
Conducted harassment prevention training for large property management company
Obtained summary judgment for four clients in past two years in cases involving racial discrimination, whistleblower and tortious interference with contractual relations issues
Conducted successful representation election campaigns for two employers, one in the entertainment industry and one in the home health industry, in the past two years
