The provisional exemption increases for federal gift and estate taxes under The Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization, and Job Creation Acts of 2010 make it important for individuals to consider revamping or setting-up their estate planning within the next few years. In this update to their popular course, attorneys James Cohen and Bruce Steiner offer stellar advice on various estate planning methods available to minimize state and federal taxes. Mr. Cohen and Mr. Steiner have an in-depth discussion on the various trusts available and their advantages over other methods of holding assets for estate planning purposes. They demonstrate how irrevocable trusts can be made flexible to accommodate the changing needs of their beneficiaries, and also briefly discuss the benefits of IRA conversions and the strategies available to minimize taxes. This is an excellent course for attorneys with a basic trusts and estates background wishing to provide thorough estate planning services for their clients.

The speakers make a good case for always working with an estate planning attorney and accountant. They also make a good case to simplify the tax code and increase the exemptions for estate planning so that most people have no need for trusts for tax purposes.
