Social Media and the Law: What Attorneys Should Know
About this Program
Attorneys need to know how to use social media to promote themselves while also maintaining their professionalism and adhering to the ethics rules pertaining to confidentiality, privacy and advertising. Attorney Ronald Coleman and the founder of uMCLE, Tim Baran, discuss social media and the specific ways in which it relates to, and poses risks, to attorneys. Coleman and Baran explain not just how to use social media, but how to use them effectively and in a way that does not endanger attorneys. In addition, a number of useful tips for both new and experienced users are also included.
I. Choosing a Platform

IV. Who Should Use Social Media
V. Blogging and Credibility
VI. Legal Research
Very valuable information in this age of electronic communication.
Loved the format!
Format of interviewing the speakers was very engaging. Speakers were animated and seemed to enjoy talking about what could be a very tedious topic.
I liked the seminar and thought the material presented was useful and the speakers engaging. I did like the interview method of running the seminar, as opposed to the usual method of straight presentation.
These were by far the most engaging speakers I've seen on Lawline. Their easy conversational style was enjoyable and the moderator was excellent at directing and guiding the conversation.
The speakers were very engaging and interesting. I loved the "panel discussion" format.
This was an interesting course. The speaker who cannot take a day off from the use of social networking because then he would "not exist" should take a couple of weeks off and see whether it mattered all that much in the long run! But the speakers raised many good points about who should use social networking and why.
A natural course selection for any attorney who uses the internet, I, for one, found this seminar very interesting and helpful.
It was informative for someone like me who does not use social media for professional purposes.
Solid panel discussion. Relevant linkedin topics.
The moderator was very good.
Very good discussion of the social media issues that we lawyers are facing today.
Really like the speaker Ron Coleman. Would watch more of his lectures for sure. Very engaging & witty.
Lively discussion with good advice...I would recommend.
Excellent presentation on a topic that is somewhat elusive to many attorneys.
Great information on social networking and the practice of law.
I enjoyed the roundtable format.
Relevant information, very useful.
Very energetic moderator and good speakers. Definitely educational on a timely topic
The presenters were very good. In particular, Mr. Coleman was outstanding -- he's knowledgeable and very engaging. This is an informative, timely, and thoughtful course. I enjoyed it.
Marty is an excellent speaker and is very knowledgeable. Tim offered interesting counterpoints. I also thought the host kept things moving at an appropriate pace. One of Lawline's best CLE offerings.
good program; Ron is excellent!
Very practical seminar on social media considerations, for someone who does not use social media or is considering it. Actually, this month there was a Va. State Bar case, reported in the local news papers concerning lawyers on blogs and advertisement vs free speech and public domain issues.
Great presentation! I was particularly impressed by the Lawline moderator.
Very good presentation.
I worked with Ron previously, and as always, he is both informative, engaging and entertaining. Very worthwhile discussion with him and Tim.
I actually enjoyed this course; very relevant in today's environment.
good for an absolute novice at social media.
Excellent approach to a moving target.
Very relevant topic in today's world.
