A new set of ethics rules have come into being in New York State. Thanks to the skillful guidance of Devika Kewalramani and Alvin H. Schulman, attorneys can avoid being caught off guard. With detailed analyses of the history of the rules, the discrepancy between the old set of codes and the new, and the various categories of practice that the updates impact, the program covers the full spectrum of professionalism as it is currently defined. Focus areas include competence, diligence, communication, current and former client conflicts, duties to prospective clients, and duty of confidentiality.
