In this program, attorneys Marc Singer, Richard Scholnick, and Paul Maselli cover real estate issues that frequently arise in New Jersey. Mr. Singer discusses the ways in which real estate brokers can be held liable when transactions go awry as well as the required disclosures that they must make in order to shield themselves from liability. Mr. Schkolnick’s presentation reviews the basics of land use – differentiating the types of variances that exist and the separate roles of the planning board and zoning board. He also provides great tips that practitioners can use to be successful in their applications. Mr. Maselli concludes the course with a discussion of how bankruptcies affect real estate in both the residential and commercial settings. He does an excellent job in briefly differentiating the types of bankruptcies, and what homeowners can expect to happen if they file for bankruptcy. This will be a helpful course for all real estate practitioners in New Jersey.
