When a person is contemplating forming a business, there are many considerations to take into account before determining the best type of entity to choose. Join twin brothers attorney Gavin Goldstein and CPA Geoffrey Goldstein in this introductory presentation that explains and differentiates the various types of business entities that exist in New Jersey and New York. They use an interesting “lemonade business” example to discuss all of the factors that should be analyzed (personal liability, taxation, governance, transferability of interest, raising capital, etc.) before making a final decision. The final part of this program focuses on the steps required to successfully form a LLC. This is a great refresher course for New York and New Jersey attorneys and accountants seeking to advise clients on forming a company.
I. Grasp the different types of business entities
II. Determine the best business entity for your client
III. Understand how to form an L.L.C

Linus (Oneida, NY)
At first the presentation seemed a little hokey, then as the two hours went on, it appeared the speakers were quite good and knowledgeable on the subject, in a relaxed way, and they pulled off helpful comparisons among the various corporate forms. Good course presented in an un-stuffy manner.
