A physician’s professional career and livelihood can be ruined by an adverse report to the National Practitioner Databank (“NPDB”), and thus it is essential that attorneys representing medical professionals be familiar with all NPDB reporting requirements. In this course, Attorney Douglas M. Nadjari provides an overview of the Healthcare Quality Improvement Act of 1996, and identifies the clear and present danger posed to doctors and hospitals by the NPDB proceedings. In addition, Nadjari explains how an attorney can zealously defend a physician in a State Disciplinary Action, Medicare Disqualification, Professional Review Action, Clinical Limitation, and Managed Care Agreement termination. Mr. Nadjari also discusses various preventative measures that physicians can take to avoid NPDB reports. All attorneys that represent physicians or medical providers must watch this course.

A good discussion on counseling professionals on harming themselves. The discussion on damage mitigation during hearings is extremely important. Sometimes, a professional's hubris is a weapon used by others to do harm...help practitioners help -rather than harm- themselves. Sage advice!
