Description

The role of charitable, nonprofit organizations has become an increasingly important one in our society.  The diversity and strength of the nonprofit sector is uniquely American and covers a wide range of institutions including libraries, museums, religious organizations, schools and colleges, hospitals and health care organizations.  David Samuels delivers an informative program on the rules governing tax-exempt status for these different organizations.  This is a great course for those  wanting to gain a basic knowledge in the area of nonprofit law.

I.    Explain the history of the non-profit sector.
II.   Be aware of the different Internal Revenue Codes.
III.  Draft a charter.
IV.  Understand the difference between a practice and a charter.
V.   Know the difference between private and public charities.
