With the January 3, 2013 announcement of the I-601A Provisional Waiver available this March, the standard of “extreme hardship” has come to the forefront of immigration practice. It is now more important than ever to understand and analyze this historically stringent standard in the context of waivers.  “New Jersey Immigration Lawyer of the Year 2012” Harlan York will examine the standard as it has evolved out of the decisions of the Administrative Appeals Office as well as the decisions of the Board of Immigration Appeals. He will discuss how the standard has been applied in I-601 Waivers of Inadmissibility and ways to beat the odds, going beyond the “common”effects of deportation of a loved one. Mr. York will also provide a comprehensive review of the Federal Register as it has established the procedures and particulars of the Provisional Waiver.   He will also cover a host of other immigration waivers.
