Recent Developments in Florida Condominium Law and Condo Associations (Audio Only)

Faculty: Andrew Babnik
Production Date: January 25 2012

Description

Condominium law has become one of the most flourishing areas of law in the state of Florida. Condominium Associations are constantly being affected by unemployment and foreclosure rates and they are regularly strapped for the funds necessary to maintain the status quo and quality of living for unit owners and tenants. In this course Florida attorney Andrew Babnick helps attorneys, law firms, and property managers understand the legal rights and consequences of condo owners and what Condo Associations can do if they are forced to collect on delinquent accounts. Specifically, attorneys will learn the legal options and remedies available to Condo Associations in situations of abandoned units, delinquent tenants, and also safe harbor laws for mortgagees and assignees.  This CLE will be extremely useful for real estate practitioners in Florida.

Agenda:
I.   Condominium Law Overview
II.  Delinquent Unit Owners
III. Claims of Lien
IV. Tenant Collections
V.  Safe Harbor for Banks and Associations
