In Part two of this series, attorneys Amy Ghosh and Joanna Ghosh discuss the intake process in divorce and family mediation in California. The presentation begins by an overview of the mediation process and the important role of the mediator. From there, they discuss strategies and techniques to maximize the first meeting between the mediator and the client, and the procedures that should be followed in the initial mediation session to maximize the results. As part of their lecture they will discuss important topics for a family mediator to understand, including: how to calculate child and spousal support; division of assets & debts; drafting of settlement agreements and the most applicable sections of the California Family Law Code.  This course will be very useful for any California family law attorneys interested in becoming mediators or those who represent clients in mediations.
