In California, there are not enough family law attorneys to satisfy the increasing need for mediation services for divorce and child custody disputes. Join attorneys Amy Ghosh and Joanna Ghosh for Part One of this two part series as they take you through a basic overview of this area of law, and how you can become a family and divorce mediator. This presentation will discuss the important role mediation plays in divorce disputes and all of the qualities and traits of a successful mediator. The presenters will also explain both voluntary and court ordered mediation, and the best ways to locate a good mediator. Additionally, this CLE will shed light on the substantive areas of law that a divorce and family mediator must know, including property and tax laws. Finally, Amy and Joanna Ghosh will share their successful strategies in overcoming common mediation impasses.
