Description

Understanding the most recent laws on income taxation of trusts will allow you to effectively minimize your clients’ tax burdens. In this course, attorney and CPA Magda Szabo explains basic trust concepts from a legal perspective, with a special emphasis on tax considerations for grantor, non-grantor, and special purpose trusts. Using helpful hypothetical examples, Ms. Szabo provide tips on how to effectively assist your clients with transfers into trusts, managing grantor trusts (including Mallinckrodt trusts), and applying the separate share rule. Additionally, the program provides an in depth analysis and comparison of simple and complex trusts, and outlines the basic calculations involved in computing trust income. In this climate of rapid and continuing change, it is necessary to stay up to date on the latest tax regulations in order to provide your clients with the best possible estate and tax planning guidance.
