Appealing Health Care and Long-Term Disability Insurance Denials
| Faculty: | David Trueman |
| Production Date: | June 20 2011 |
Description
Today, insurers are denying more claims than ever, making appeals a more important part of the health care system. Unfortunately, insurance denials can be complex and often claimants are not using the appeals process to its potential. In this program, attorney David L. Trueman discusses the essentials that practitioners need to know about appealing health care and long-term disability insurance denials. From understanding the applicable laws to the important standards of review, Trueman discusses the best practices that should be implemented during each step of the appellate review. With special focus on the underused external review process, this CLE will help health care law attorneys understand how to appeal and also obtain reversals for their clients claim denials.

Outstanding presentation! I've handled a number of appeals and still learned several "tricks of the trade." Would highly recommend this presentation to everyone - even those who don't regularly practice in this area.
