Description
The truest measure of a defense lawyer's worth is his or her skills at cross-examination, and all the risks that normally confront a cross-examiner are amplified when examining an expert. In this program, criminal trial attorney Herald Fahringer uses anecdotal stories and demonstrative aids to teach attorneys the fundamental strategies they must follow to successfully cross-examine any expert witness. Mr. Fahringer takes viewers on an unforgettable journey through some of his most interesting cases, including the successful defenses of Frank Hughes (an infamous New York City gangster), Al Goldstein (publisher of Screw Magazine) and as was portrayed in a feature film, Larry Flint (publisher of Hustler magazine). After watching this program, defense attorneys will have a better chance of obtaining key information from opposing experts and winning their next trials.
Agenda:
I. The Hazards of Cross-Examining an Expert Witness
II. The Objectives of Cross-Examining an Expert Witness
III. Fundamental Strategies for Cross-Examining an Expert Witness
IV. The Importance of Written Documents and Prior Testimony
V. Cross-Examination Tips, Techniques, and Examples
